What this site is
RoofRainYield estimates how much rain a roof collects by month and how much a tank of each size delivers to a garden, from public climate data and a documented model. It is informational only.
No warranty on the figures
Real roofs, gutters, tanks and gardens differ in ways a per-city model cannot capture, and any given year can be far wetter or drier than normal. Nothing here is guaranteed to match what your tank collects, and no figure should be the only basis for a purchase.
Not legal advice
State rule summaries are shortened and may lag behind changes in the law. They do not cover city or county ordinances, HOA covenants or permits. Confirm with your state water agency or local building department before installing a large system.
Not plumbing or drinking-water advice
Figures here are for garden and outdoor use. Collected rainwater is not safe to drink without treatment, and connecting a tank to indoor plumbing usually needs a permit and backflow protection installed under local code. Large tanks are heavy and need a level, load-bearing base.
